Quality hair care products can be outrageously expensive these days!  And because everyone has a unique hair type and therefore hair needs, it's fairly impossible to pick up a cheap bottle of shampoo (and conditioner) that will be perfect for your hair.  If you're looking for an inexpensive and natural solution to dry, oily, or just bland hair, look no further than the natural hair care ideas found in this article.

Dry hair usually indicates a lack of zinc in your diet.  You can remedy this by consuming foods that are high in zinc as a regular part of your diet -- oysters, roasted pumpkin seeds, lamb, peanuts, and chocolate, among others.  But if your hair is already dry, try massaging your scalp with warmed almond or olive oil.  Alternatively, mix lavender oil in with coconut oil and rub it into your hair and scalp at nights before shampooing it off in the mornings; done twice a week regularly, this will result in soft, shiny hair.

Oily hair results from overactive oil glands on your scalp, constantly doing what they do all too well right into your hair.  If you have oily hair, you should be frequently washing it (though not too often, as you can end up damaging your hair with too many chemicals) with a mild shampoo.  Applying a puree of carrots to your hair for fifteen minutes is a natural solution to oily hair, as is boiling mint in water for twenty minutes and mixing the result with your normal shampoo to help absorb the extra oils.

 Normal hair seems like it's a blessing, right?  It depends on if you're looking for something out of the ordinary with your hair!  If your hairdresser or doctor tells you your hair type is normal, but you'd still like to add a little shine or weight, apply cucumber puree for fifteen minutes for shine and heaviness.  If you periodically wash your hair out with white vinegar, you can obtain a very healthy look for your locks.

 Looking for natural shampoo or conditioner options?  Try beating two egg yolks into a glass of hot water and straining the mixture, then soaking your scalp with it and waiting for one hour before rinsing it off with warm water.  For conditioner, mix together an egg, castor oil, vinegar, and glycerine, then apply it to the scalp for 20 minutes before rinsing it off.
